After looking at several models, I decided to take a chance on the ProMow 16-inch electric. I own a cordless chainsaw that works very well, so going to a corded version was no problem. I did not want the hassles of a gas powered saw, but I did want a saw I could use for hours without having to worry about charging batteries. This saw's motor was rated at 15 amps, so I knew it should have plenty of power and it does. It's not only powerful, but lightweight and easy to handle. The 16 inch bar is long enough to handle large trees, I used the saw to cut up 3 maple trees that were cut down for me, some being over 18 inches in diameter. The saw handled them, no problem. I was also surprised at how quiet it is, much quieter than a gas saw, and even quieter than my battery operated saw! The oil reservoir is large and easy to fill. This saw stops very quickly when the switch is released, and it includes a chain brake as well. Wood chips are guided straight down from the saw so they land at my feet and not all over my pants like my other saw. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is the fact that I have to tension the chain often, I check it before every other cut because the chain seems to loosen easily. It is easy to tighten though with the easy to use chain tension knob, just a quick twist and the chain is tight again. Overall, I'm very pleased, it was the lowest priced saw with a 16 inch bar, very strong, lightweight, easy to use. Walmart delivered it in 2 days, free shipping! How can you beat it?
